POEA or Philippine Overseas Employment Administration is responsible for promoting and developing the different overseas employment program of the Philippines. It also regulates the private sector's participation in the recruitment and overseas placement of Filipinos. Aside from the above mentioned legal mandates, the POEA also protect the rights of Overseas Filipino Workers or OFWs as a worker and human being overseas.
Regional offices of the POEA are located in La Union for Luzon, Cebu in the Visayas and Davao in the Mindanao region. Extension offices are also located at Baguio-Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo and Zamboanga. In Calamba, Pampanga, Laguna, Legaspi, Bacolod and Tacloban are satellite offices.
